Fifth Annual 9-11 Memorial Stair Climb in Antioch Hall

Antioch College will once again host Miami Township Fire-Rescue's (MTFR) annual 9-11 Memorial Stair Climb on Saturday, September 8, 2018. Participants climbing the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center inside Antioch College's historic Main Building, Antioch Hall.

Antioch College and MTFR have a longstanding relationship, and the official MTFR badge even prominently features the iconic towers of Antioch Hall. Students have been working with the Township since the late 1950s, first through the Antioch College Fire Department (“Maples”) and later directly through MTFR. Chief Colin Altman is a 1993 Antioch College graduate, and MTFR is an active Co-op employer. Recent students have worked alongside other members as firefighters and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs).

The partnership between Antioch College and MTFR is just one example of our dedication to the practice of 'work, world, and resilient community,' and how the College works with the greater Yellow Springs community for the common good.
