Announcing grant opportunities for alumni of the 2000s

January 29, 2019—Antioch College is pleased to announce the second year of the Winning Victories Grant program, Winning Victories for the Twenty-first Century.

The Winning Victories Grant seeks to support initiatives that are conceived and designed by alumni and which impact public good and social justice in local, national, or international communities. There will be two grants of $20,000 each presented during Reunion 2019, July 11-14.

Proposals can be submitted for all types of initiatives, including social or business entrepreneurial efforts. All applicants are encouraged to attend the July 11–14, 2019 Antioch College Reunion when participants will vote and select the 2019 Winning Victories Grant recipients. Winning Victories Grants are made possible by Trustee Matt Morgan ’99 as a way to accelerate the impact Antiochians make in the world.

Key features of the grant program:

The innovative Winning Victory idea or existing initiative must be the idea of an Antioch College alumni who attended or graduated from Antioch College in 2000 or later, or who is graduating in 2019. Proposals submitted by an alum who is working at an innovative program that was started by a non-Antiochian, will not be considered.

The application must indicate which of Antioch College’s five Areas of Practice is impacted by the initiative. The five Areas of Practice are:

  • Environmental Sustainability
  • Deliberative Democracy, Diversity, and Social Justice
  • Creativity and Story
  • Wellbeing
  • Work, World, and Resilient Community

This year, proposals must be submitted by the innovator, not nominated by another.

Grants can be either for seed money to launch a new initiative, including raising additional money from other sources, or to support and/or expand an on-going initiative.

Grant proposals will be reviewed and scored by teams and all proposal applicants will be notified by early May, 2019 regarding whether or not they are semifinalists.

Semifinalists will present their proposal ideas at Reunion 2019 (in person or via video) on Saturday, July 13 when Reunion attendees will select the winners.

Application Deadline: March 31, 2019
