Randall Frank Norcross ‘77

Randall Frank Norcross, age 78, of Augusta, ME, passed away Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017, at Maine General Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born in Winthrop, Nov. 1, 1939, the son of A. Kenneth and Mary C. (Kus) Norcross.

He was a graduate of Winthrop High School, Boston Conservatory of Music, the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and Antioch College in Cambridge, Mass.

Randall may be best remembered by the Winthrop community for his early years working with local youth creating and directing musical productions before going off to college to pursue his love of musical theater.

Among his accomplishments was a stint directing at the Cleveland Playhouse in Ohio and later directing rehearsals in New York for the Metropolitan Opera Company.

Randall was predeceased by his parents; his grandparents, Earl and Alice Norcross and Michael and Julia Kus. He is survived by his sister, Carol Norcross and her husband, Roger Willette, of Augusta; nieces, Michelle Small and husband, Jeff Sullivan, of Brunswick and Melinda Caterine and husband, John, of Freeport. In addition, Randall leaves a number of close cousins and a special aunt, Frances Kus, all of whom he held dear.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no service. Randall's family would like to extend many thanks to the doctors and nurses at Maine General Medical Center in Augusta for their excellent care during his final hours. The family is grateful for their compassion and understanding. Arrangements are in the care of Roberts Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop.
