Robert "Bob" A. Bell '86

Robert "Bob" A. Bell died Feb. 8, 2019, at St. Luke's hospital in Boise, Idaho. Bob was born Nov. 20, 1932, in Independence, Mo. He is survived by his wife, Marline Rennels; and three sons, Scott, David and John; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A fourth son, Peter, passed away in 2015. Bob attended the University of Missouri and Antioch College later in life.

During his career he was a successful business executive for several consumer products companies such as Toastmaster and Zenetron. He was also a frequent speaker for the American Management Association. He lived and worked in a number of cities, including New Canaan, Conn., New York City and Chicago, while also traveling internationally. Bob retired at age 62.

During his retirement, Bob started the CEO Institute in Seattle and spent a lot of time as an avid sailor, sailing to the San Juan Islands off Washington state and to Alaska. Bob had many friends during his life with whom he would go exploring throughout the West. His other interests included reading, flying his Cessna 150, skiing, biking, hiking and traveling.

Following Marline's retirement, they lived in Tucson, Ariz., and Sun Valley and Boise, Idaho. There will be a private ceremony this summer in Sun Valley. If you would like, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Bob's name. Bob will be dearly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
